Extract the files into

~/.gimp2.2/gradients/

where ~ is your home dir, i.e. /home/johnny

GIMP version may vary.

Yep they work on all versions of Gimp, all you need to do is drop it in your Gimp "Gradients" folder I'm not sure exactly which path gimp is installed on mac but if you did a search for Gradients folder and drop the files in there it should work fine.

make sure all the .ggr files are placed directly inside of the gradient folder and not in a sub folder within the gradient folder. what type of OS are you using?

ok thats why its not working, the gradient folder is located in the "Documents and Settings" under your Account user name, for example, my Account is named "IBM" this is the full path on where i place mine D:\Documents and Settings\IBM\.gimp-2.2\gradients

These are so nice. I was wondering if I could use these gradients for a menu, and then send the menu to a site that offers free css menus. Would I have to include the cc license with the menu?

oh thank you so much, i had the layer styles for ps, but nothing for gimp, I had hoped someone would do it for gimp, thanks a lot.

Ok ive got them here and im about to extract them to the gradients folder, but when Archive Manager cames up and shows the available folders, i dont see the gimp folder. Yeh I know you have to have to have hidden folders viewed, but i cant see how i can do that from Archive Manager. Oh yeh, im using ubuntu. Anyone know how to solve this?

for me, the place to install was C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\gradients (yes this is with gimp 2.4.2)

on the mac
Right click on Gimp.APP, and choose show package content. Find the gradient folder inside.

if your using windows then do a search for gradients, a folder names gradients should show up now place your unzipped gradients in there.

hey I can´t get the gradients working in gimp, it says premission denied when I tried to open them. I have them in the correct folder because fonts and brushes which I also have downloaded function well.
